Writing letters to the person you punch the most
When my sons aren’t play fighting, they are real fighting. Think dogs constantly biting at each other’s throats, mostly just mouthing but sometimes sinking in their teeth.
It was a surprise for 4 year old Hamish to receive this letter in the mail from his 6 year old brother, Louis:

Ah that is lovely! My boys are two years apart also. No matter what I do to separate them when they are fighting, within minutes they have gravitated to one another. I’m still waiting to see a more demonstrative sign of affection though.
This post epitomises what brothers are all about, and reminds me very much of my own two brothers in childhood. Heartwarming.
