Roz Chast on pursuing creative passions

“If drawing if something you love to do then you have to figure out your own way to keep doing it.”

Roz Chast of The New Yorker speaks to The Age about pursuing creative passions. I think this quote can be applied to any creative pursuit: writing, painting, dancing. You keep doing it because you love it.

I never tire of hearing this kind of advice.

Roz Chast will be appearing with other staff of The New Yorker at the 2012 Melbourne Writers Festival, which runs from 23rd August to 2 September.

My favorite kind of advice too. I think I’m finally getting it, I’m prioritizing writing, instead of pushing it to the background. I’m even painting. Me. Painting.

The Melbourne writers festival sounds pretty fabulous. I look forward to hearing more…

Can we meet, tomorrow? I have no plans, all day. I will sneak you in my panel, and you can give me hints of things to say.

PS Your comments on my blog have gone straight to my heart. Thank you, a lot xx
